Poetry for Real are...
Helen Lehndorf
has been performing poetry in London, Bristol and Wellington for the last four years. In Wellington, she has performed at Bats Theatre, Cuba Street Carnival, NZ Poetry Society, in-store at Vic Books on Cuba and she has been the guest poet at Poetree 123 twice and at the Poet's Pub in Lower Hutt once.
In 1999 she completed the full-time Creative Writing Course at Whitireia Polytechnic. She is a writer, journalist, editor and librarian. In July 2000 she is producing her masterwork, her first baby.

Sarah Laing
is a designer by day, a published poet by night. She contributes to the Dominion book page and is busy collecting sordid life details for her memoirs. Some new poems are appearing in the forthcoming issue of Takahe. She has performed poetry in cafes, sung arias at weddings and is an irrepressible karaoke queen, with a penchant for dress-ups.

regularly performs his own poetry in and around
Wellington although he admits that performing within a group is a real
'buzz'. He is currently putting the finishing touches on a poetry collection, The Bloated Lotus which focuses on body and image issues. His favourite city is New York.

Thérèse Lloyd
has spent the last three years travelling around New
Zealand performing poetry. In February 1999 she collaborated with two
Nelson poets on a publication called Box of Birds, which was teamed with a sell-out performance at the Nelson Community Arts Centre.
In September 1999 she was invited as a guest poet to perform at the Nelson Fringe Festival in the Fringe Poetry Show. She has also performed at the Awakening Nelson, and various cafes and book launches in Wellington and Nelson.

is a writer, film-maker and eco-warrior. Wherever he lays his
hat, that's his home. He gets by in the world using a heady combination of grace, integrity and smiles. He's on the dole - the best literary grant in New Zealand - and enjoys throwing saw-dust at politicians.
